just painting...

Gaurav Jindal, a resident of the Union Territory Chandigarh (India) , is a man grown from a novice to envisioning himself as an artist to behold. At 25, he is directed rightly on his quest to find the appropriate walls and minds of the art-collectors and lovers, and making his space on their walls through his canvases. But he’s a self taught painter, majorly, and that’s what gives him the perk above others!

Though a bright student at school with favorite subjects as Mathematics and    Science, art was always a fancy to him. Any opportunity that presented to him to perform in the field of arts, he never let those go without giving a shot. This urge to always go for arts, be it some exhibitions between schools, or art competitions at various levels from school to National, he always tried his best to express himself by the colors that wet his papers.

It came as a no surprise, though, that his art teacher asked him to supervise his class’s performance and projects that would be taken up as an intra-school exhibition when in class 8th, and that got his class the First Prize, leaving behind the seniors and juniors alike. Not just that, he was also asked to organize and manage 2 Farewell and 1 Fresher’s party at school itself, just because he was too reliable and efficient to replace.

Taking up Science in High School, and Civil Engineering later was what he always wanted to get graduated in. but through that too, art was never off his mind. He not only went into the Art team for the college Fest every year, he was commissioned to paint the new Canteen walls and his Department wall with theme-specific images that he carried off pretty well.  In his First Year only, he became the first person of junior year to be granted the Best Artist of University Award, while he painted with mostly his left hand and walked on crutches for 3 months, due to an accident. But the will never gave up on him, and he performed well!

And all that got him as the Convener of the Arts Committee for his College Annual Fest, named Emanation, and that was considered the best art-themed Fest the college saw.

Before that, he had already started his Diploma in Arts under a reputed banner of Chhaya School of Arts, based out of Chandigarh. Making sure he didn’t miss the classes, and practicing as much as time allowed, basics and techniques started dawning into him. He got to be a personal favorite to the teachers there and passed the 7-year Diploma in Painting with flying colors, to fly the colors in the world!

After graduation though, painting took over his Scientific priorities and he started doing it full time. He started his tours around the country to look around, get inspired and motivated, get connected to people and expose himself to the realities of the scapes in front of him. And all that gave him real insight into what he paints and displays now.

He takes art classes for children, whenever he feels he has enough time to stay at one place, specially Chandigarh.  He has converted his Basement room into his full-time workshop and painting room. He also paints as per the orders taken up at a certain Art-dealing shop named Glass Traders at sector 18, Chandigarh. His works, amongst others’, are placed there for interested personnel to visit and purchase.

Though majorly what he works on are customized orders given by his clients. He has not only delivered many painting orders within India, but clients from countries like Canada, France, Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Germany and USA (Chicago and LA) have been fan to his artworks and commissioned a few of his works. He’s constantly

working on many others, be it Portraits of self, or gift by the clients, or

Landscapes, or Seascapes, or Abstract Art. He has also started working

with gold and gems, encrusting them to his paintings, on order,

especially with God-like paintings and installations.

A civil engineer turned painter, Gaurav Jindal, is here to present his

vision for art. The varied originals, remakes and experimental paintings

show that there's no stopping at the path of learning, no matter what

field you're from. So here's Gaurav, opening himself to the world, as a
